Master International conjoint South European Studies (EUROSUD)

The Master's in International South European Studies (EUROSUD) offers an excellent training program for students wishing to develop in-depth expertise on Southern Europe and a solid understanding of international issues. EUROSUD studies Southern Europe as a region with its own identity, occupying a key position in European and global dynamics. The region is confronted with major issues - democratic, economic and social crises, governance challenges, migration, climate change, post-colonial legacies, security realignments in the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea - making it an area of strategic analysis.

The program prepares students for a wide range of careers in the public and private sectors, European and international institutions and non-governmental organizations, or for the pursuit of a doctorate, depending on their professional goals. The program combines academic teaching, language skills, professional experience and an introduction to research, guaranteeing a comprehensive, international education. Graduates of UAM-AMU Track 1 obtain a double degree: Master in Democracy and Government (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) & Master in European and International Studies (Aix-Marseille Université).

EUROSUD brings together a network of four European partner universities within the CIVIS Alliance (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Aix-Marseille Université, Sapienza Università di Roma, Université Libre de Bruxelles), as well as associated higher education establishments, major cultural organizations, think tanks and policy practitioners with expertise and in-depth knowledge of the region. These elements make up a multi-disciplinary, flexible and integrated program that facilitates cultural immersion in Southern Europe. Thanks in particular to several periods of international mobility, a multi-disciplinary approach that combines localized studies, international issues and critical tools, and transferable skills that enhance the employability of graduates.

At the University of Aix-Marseille, students will be hosted for the third and fourth semesters as part of the Master Études Européennes et Internationales, Coopération Euro-méditerranéenne course, in collaboration with Université Hassan 2 Casablanca, Morocco, the program's associate partner. To apply for the Madrid-Aix Marseille program, students must demonstrate a minimum B2 level in English and French.

Application details are available on the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid website.
