Openness to the world is at the heart of the humanist culture of Aix-Marseille University's Faculty of Arts, Letters, Languages and Humanities. It is an integral part of our training and research in all the disciplines represented within the component.

Our sector has a long tradition of international cooperation: the first Erasmus agreements were signed over 40 years ago. Our disciplines are home to some of Aix-Marseille Université's oldest, most active and most solid bilateral partnerships in Europe and around the world.

Building on this tradition, the ALLSH faculty encourages and supports the development of international collaboration as part of the institution's strategy, as well as initiatives specific to our own perimeter. The aim of these many initiatives is to encourage student and staff mobility, and to promote pedagogical and scientific collaboration on an international scale. Our numerous internationally-partnered degrees and integrated curricula promote the internationalization of our courses. We encourage and support participation in prestigious international networks by funding seed projects that promote international scientific collaboration on research projects.

The faculty's international dimension is not limited to collaboration on programs: the ALLSH component welcomes many international students (nearly 400) who join our courses. Welcoming and supporting these students is of particular importance to us, and we have developed a sponsorship program that is open to them to help them integrate and share the wealth they bring to our university community.
