As part of the FARO project, in which the Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies (DEPB) participates through the involvement of Mónica Esteves Reis, two students from the Master LLCER program completed a cultural mediation internship at The Beit Project.
Between workshops at La Citadelle and meetings with young people from Marseilles' neighborhoods, Amadou Baldé and Mamadou Diaby experimented, under Mónica's supervision, with the transition from the study of languages and cultures to field practice, where heritage becomes a concrete tool for dialogue and living together.
Heritage, youth and living together: two LLCER students on placement at the Beit Project - As an extension of the Marseilles phase of the FARO (Ocean - Openness) project, two Master LLCER students from the Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at Aix-Marseille University, Amadou Baldé and Mamadou Diaby, completed a cultural mediation placement at the Beit Project in Marseilles between February and March 2026. Under the supervision of Mónica Esteves Reis, this experience combines training in foreign languages and cultures, heritage education and the fight against discrimination.
