This year's Aesthetic Studies Day is a continuation of last year's event. The argument is the same. But expectations have changed. This time, it will be up to each of us to simply refer to the singular work that moves us to say why we find it interesting to talk about friendship in its context.
What is the experience to which the beloved work lends itself insofar as it ceases to be an object and becomes "what there is"? "In the woods there's a bird, its song stops you" ( Heidegger, Time and Being ).
In other words: what does it make us sensitive to?
