    The master's degree is a national higher education diploma conferring on its holder the university degree of master's degree. It attests to the acquisition of a base of knowledge and skills mainly based on research in History. The course prepares students for careers in archives and libraries.

  • KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED

    - Digital uses and the impact of their evolution on the field(s) concerned by the mention.
    - Essential principles of archival science on collection, classification and conservation, linking them to methodological and theoretical reflection
    - Principles of ethics, professional conduct and social and environmental responsibility
    - Political, institutional and legal contexts of the records and/or archives management professions, both in the public and private sectors
    - Paleographic, diplomatic, linguistic, legal, historical and technical knowledge
    - Principles and methods of preventive and curative preservation of documents (from paper to digital)
    - policy for the management of activity documents and/or archives, regardless of their medium (from paper to digital), which complies with the archivist's professional code of ethics (Code of Ethics for Archives – ICA)

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

    - Sorting, classifying and describing activity documents and/or archives, regardless of their medium, using reference systems and description tools - Independently using advanced digital tools for one or more professions or research sectors in the field - Developing a critical awareness of knowledge in a field and/or at the interface of several fields - Conducting a reflective and distanced analysis in order to propose appropriate and/or innovative solutions while respecting changes in regulations - Identify, select and critically analyse various specialised resources to document a subject and synthesize this data with a view to their use - Take responsibility for contributing to knowledge and professional practices

    - Lead a project (design, steering, team coordination, implementation and management, evaluation, dissemination) that can mobilize multidisciplinary skills in a collaborative framework
    - Design repositories and tools (classifications, thesauri, lists of authorities, ontologies) for describing activity documents and/or archives, regardless of their medium
