Introduction to CILSH
The CILSH’s main remit is to teach computer science to students of arts and humanities. It offers general or specialism-related course modules (UE), which may be compulsory for certain degree programmes or taken as options in others, for students from the first year of the Bachelor’s degree to the second year of the Master’s degree at the ALLSH Faculty.
The computer rooms in the multimedia centre can be made available to the various departments of AMU for their own teaching purposes by submitting a request via ADE.
Since the 2018/2019 academic year, the CILSH has been responsible for the ‘Pix’ teaching unit, now known as ‘Digital Tools’ (HON3U01 / HON4U01), COMPULSORY FOR ALL STUDENTS in their second year of the Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Humanities and in other departments. This course module trains over 5,000 students a year and may lead to the PIX certification.
Please see the ‘Our Teaching Modules’ section for further information on these modules.
Who are our training courses aimed at?
- To all second-year undergraduates in the ALLSH Faculty via modules HON3U01 / HON4U01
- To third-year undergraduates and Master’s students via the following modules or options: HIFAZ11 / HIF5Z10 / HIF6Z13 / HIFBZ13 / HLLA01B
CILSH offers modules worth between 3 and 6 credits, which may be compulsory or optional depending on your degree programme.
All second-year undergraduates, regardless of their degree programme, must take the module
