Personal training account (CPF)

The Personal Training Account(CPF) enables employees toacquire training rights that can be used throughout their working lives. It is universal in scope, and is open to all working people. The personal training account is an individual account that can be topped up in euros, and used throughout one's working life to undertake training.

Training must be eligible for the CPF.

For whom?

Depending on your situation :

  • Your fees are calculated in Euros: if your fees do not cover the full cost of your training, you can pay the difference by credit card in one go.
  • if the amount in your CPF does not cover the full cost of your training, you can ask your employer for a top-up. Your employer can top up your CPF directly via the EDEF application.
  • If the training takes place during working hours, you must inform your employer beforehand.
  • Your rights are calculated in hours, not euros. You can consult your balance of hours on the CPF application
  • You must contact your HR department directly to find out how you can use it.
  • If your CPF rights are sufficient to finance the entire course, you can use the "Mon compte Formation" application.
  • If your CPF rights are not sufficient to finance the training in full, you can apply to France travail directly via the CPF app.
  • If your rights are insufficient to cover the full cost of the training, and the request for a contribution from France travail has not been accepted, you can pay the difference by credit card online.

In all cases, you must inform your Pôle Emploi advisor of your intention to resume your studies.

Steps to take

  1. Submit your application on the dedicated platforms

and request a quote from the SFC continuing education department

  2. In parallel, create your account on the CPF application
  1. Check your training entitlement balance
  2. Once you have been admitted to the training program, inform the SFC for assistance in finalizing your application (in the case of co-financing) and assistance in finalizing the procedure on the CPF application.

Employees using their Personal Training Account (CPF) are required to pay an additional 102.23 euros (whatever the cost of the training). This new rule does not apply to job-seekers or employees whose company co-finances training via the CPF.
