The Skills Development Plan (SDP)

Employers can finance training programs as part of the skills development plan.

An employee can take the initiative in requesting training under this scheme.

The law imposes no procedure: the request and the response are made freely, according to the employer's practices or contractual provisions. The employer is free to accept or refuse. If the employer accepts, the employee's training is treated as part of the normal performance of the employment contract.

Training costs are paid by the employer, or under certain conditions by his OPCO (skills operator).

For the self-employed: training costs may be covered by training funds (FIF-PL, Agefice, AFDAS, FAF-PM, etc.).

Steps to take :

  1. Submit your application on the dedicated platforms

and request a quote from the SFC continuing education department

  2. At the same time, submit a training request to your employer (at least 4 months before the start date)
  3. If your employer agrees to cover the cost of the course, send the agreement to the SFC with the name of the employer, the title of the course, the surname and first name of the person enrolled, the level of cover and the terms of payment for the course.
