Computer Center for Humanities (CILSH)

Introducing CILSH

CILSH's main mission is to teach computer science to humanities students. It delivers general or specialized teaching units (UE), which may be compulsory for certain courses or optional for others, for students from Licence 1 to Master 2 in the ALLSH faculty.

The multimedia center's computer rooms can be made available to various AMU components for their own teaching by making a request on ADE.

Since the 2018/2019 academic year, CILSH has been in charge of the Pix UE, now called HON3U01 / HON4U01 digital tools, which is MANDATORY FOR ALL Bachelor 2 students in the Humanities and other departments. This course trains over 5,000 students a year and may lead to PIX certification.

For more information, see the section on our teaching units.

Who can benefit from our training courses?

  • All ALLSH faculty 2 bachelor's degrees via UE HON3U01 / HON4U01
  • Licences 3 and Masters via UE or options: HIFAZ11 / HIF5Z10 / HIF6Z13 / HIFBZ13 / HLLA01B

CILSH offers 3 to 6-credit teaching units, either compulsory or optional, depending on your field of study.

All L2 students, whatever their major, must take the UE
HON3U01 / HON4U01 " Digital tools " in semesters 3 and 4 of their Licence 2 year
even if they took the Pix certification at high school.

The aim is to make you totally autonomous on a computer and acquire essential skills for further study and professional life.
Through online challenges resembling fun games, you will learn by manipulating tools in concrete situations, enabling you to develop more global thinking and apply these skills in your everyday life.

All the necessary information is available on AMETICE.

Please note that you'll need to take this course even if you've already passed your Pix certification at high school. The expectations and levels are not the same.
