Apéro debate: "Does press freedom have to be absolute?" with Dominique Sigaud

🗓️ Wednesday, November 19, 2025

The Méridio team welcomes Dominique Sigaud, writer and former international reporter.

After many years in the field, notably in Africa and the Middle East, she has turned her attention to writing essays, stories and novels. She has devoted herself to writing essays, stories and novels that explore violence, memory, the status of women and the role of testimony. Her background as an international journalist and her commitment make her a particularly relevant voice to discuss our theme:

"Does press freedom have to be absolute?"

Méridio Aix-Marseille:

Méridio Aix-Marseille is a student association whose aim is to promote the debate of ideas on topical issues that may affect students as well as the whole of society. Every two weeks, we organize coffee debates in small groups over a light aperitif. The cafés debates can be continued at home, where we publish the MériTalkShow, our podcast based on three themes: politics, geopolitics and territory. You'll find exchanges with leading personalities, as well as news items to help you understand what's going on in the world.
Méridio is also an ambitious association, organizing conferences on a variety of subjects. But also with parliamentary simulations, for our biggest event, which take place in the National Assembly or here in our beautiful Southern Region.
