In the footsteps of a refugee

🗓️ Friday, March 6, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Refugee Awareness Day is organized by students in the Applied Foreign Languages Master's program, Sustainable and Cultural Development Project Management at AMU, in collaboration with refugee students from the SUL (Service Universitaire des Langues).

This immersive event, scheduled for Friday March 6, 2026 from 11am to 5pm at the SUL first floor (Porte building, Campus Schuman AMU in Aix-en-Provence), invites the public to experience the key stages of the exile journey: from fleeing the country of origin to administrative procedures in France, via the challenges of integration.

On the program:

  • 📖 Public reading of authentic texts written by SUL refugee students, testifying to their experiences.
  • 📸 Photo and drawing exhibition on personal journeys and resilience
  • 🎥 Screening of thematic short films
  • 🍲 Multicultural solidarity buffet, with proceeds supporting AGIR (Aix association providing day-to-day support for asylum seekers).

The aim is to deconstruct prejudice, inspire empathy and mobilize for a fairer, more supportive welcome to Aix and beyond. Open to all - AMU students, residents, associations - in an educational yet friendly atmosphere!
