The IECJ will welcome Marie-Laure REBORA for a lecture entitled " En paix soit leur sommeil: présentation des épitaphes d'enfants en provenance des catacombes juives italiennes de Rome (IIIe-IVe c. n. è.) et de Venosa (IVe-VIe c. n. è.) " ( In peace be their sleep: presentation of children's epitaphs from the Italian Jewish catacombs of Rome (3rd-4th c. n. è.) and Venosa (4th-6th c. n. è.)).
Through the study of these funerary inscriptions, this talk sheds light on the status of children in ancient Italian Jewish communities and highlights the dynamics of appropriation of Greco-Roman models and the affirmation of a Jewish identity in diaspora.
