Memory and fraternity: Joann Sfar's "La vie dessinée" exhibition!

🗓️jusqu to February 24, 2026

Joann Sfar, you're all familiar with him: he's the author of the comic strip Le Petit Vampire, Donjon, Le Chat du Rabbin...! Today, amid the turmoil of events and the confusion of emotions, he still manages to maintain his sense of belonging to an attacked Jewishness and a shaky humanity.

The exhibition presents Joann Sfar's "La vie dessinée", his notebooks before and after October 7, 2023. It is part of a series of exhibitions devoted by the Foundation to artists of the past and present, whose work and deep-seated convictions stand up against barbarism, extremism, anti-Semitism and racism.

Go to the Camp des Milles and discover this exhibition, a mix of comic strip and video: it's an invitation - often joyful - to a vital dialogue, a humanist breath of fresh air for all! It's good for you, good for our hearts, good for democracy, good for the peace we all share!

Creating to resist is one of the themes that the Fondation du Camp des Milles - Mémoire et Éducation has been promoting since the Memorial Site opened to the public in 2012, echoing the strong presence of artists interned at the Camp des Milles between 1939 and 1942.

The Fondation du Camp des Milles - Mémoire et Éducation works to promote civic education and culture, with the University of Aix-Marseille contributing to an international scientific network as a Unesco Chair in "Education for Citizenship, Human Sciences and the Convergence of Memories".
