AIMS
In addition to the objectives common to all the history degree courses, Track 2 includes geography courses from the second to the third year, offering a genuine bivalence between these two historically related and complementary disciplines. The aim of Track 2 is to prepare students for teaching history and geography in secondary schools (middle school, high school). It is essential preparation for the CAPES history-geography and agrégation history competitive examinations. However, it also provides excellent training for students intending to become primary school teachers or for any other career in the civil service for which a solid general knowledge is required.
KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED
All four tracks prepare students in the same way for the scientific requirements of the discipline of history, in the four canonical periods of history. The courses specific to Track 2 focus on the history of territories, rural history and economic and social history. It also includes a solid grounding in geography.
