AIMS
In addition to the objectives common to all History Degree programmes, Programme 3 offers a course of study based on the strengths of the History Department and AMU: the Mediterranean, the Arab-Muslim world, Africa and Asia. For this reason, in addition to a solid grounding in anthropology, it offers disciplinary teaching units focusing on regional areas whose study is a key factor in our department's influence. This programme may be of interest to students who wish to either specialise in a research master's degree on the Mediterranean and non-European worlds, or to build up a solid general knowledge of chrono-cultural areas in order to pursue careers with an international focus, for example.
KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED
All four courses prepare students in the same way for the scientific requirements of the discipline of history, covering the four canonical periods of history (Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the modern period and the contemporary period). The courses specific to Pathway 3 focus on the history of the Mediterranean, the history of Africa, the history of the Arab-Muslim world and the history of Asia. As part of the BCC3, it also includes a solid grounding in anthropology.
