In addition to the objectives common to all History degree courses, Track 3 offers a teaching programme based on the History department's and AMU's strong specialisms: the Mediterranean, the Arab-Muslim world and Africa. For this reason, in addition to a solid grounding in anthropology, it offers elective language courses, which are essential for understanding the geographical areas studied, and subject-based courses on the regional areas whose study is a key factor in our department's influence. This track could be of interest to students who wish either to specialise in a Master's degree in research on the Mediterranean and non-European worlds, or to build up a solid general knowledge of chrono-cultural areas in order to consider careers with an international focus, for example.

All four tracks prepare students in the same way for the scientific requirements of the discipline of history, in the four canonical periods of history. The courses specific to Track 3 cover the history of the Mediterranean, the history of Africa and the history of the Arab-Muslim world. As part of the BCC3, it also includes solid training in anthropology, and a possible introduction to Arabic and Italian (in addition to the compulsory modern language courses).
