In addition to the objectives common to all the history degree courses, Track 4 has been designed to provide the best possible training for students intending to pursue careers in journalism and communication, without excluding the other opportunities offered by a History degree. To this end, it offers an opening towards sociology, as well as a slight prevalence for current affairs and social issues, in order to adapt as well as possible to the expectations of masters degrees in the fields of communication and journalism.

All four tracks prepare students in the same way for the scientific requirements of the discipline of history, in the four canonical periods of history. The courses specific to Track 4 focus on current affairs, gender history and the history of power. It also includes a solid grounding in sociology.
