AIMS
The Med*Arts master's degree programme covers a specific and central role in the cultural and artistic sector: developing audiences and the cultural dissemination of the arts. This professionally-recognised qualification covers a range of functions (cultural project coordinator, audience development officer, head of cultural promotion for heritage, the performing arts, books, the visual arts, etc.).. and sector-based cultural action, educational workshop manager, sector-based animator, cultural public services manager, public relations manager, etc.). This is a large and growing employment pool. This sector is based on strategic missions and activities for cultural establishments (museums, art centres, theatres, music venues, heritage organisations, etc.) in terms of development and marketing....) in terms of the development of artistic and cultural offerings, territorial inclusion and the broadening/diversification of audiences.
The person responsible for audience development and the cultural dissemination of the arts is a project manager who, based on a specific field of the arts and culture, is responsible for the development and dissemination of the arts and culture;a particular field of arts and culture, in a cultural, partnership, professional and institutional context, at different levels of the territory, conceives, organises, implements, promotes and values cultural projects designed to create links with a variety of audiences. It develops a strategic audience policy for cultural establishments and creates the corresponding managerial dynamic. The Arts master's degree is structured into 4 pathways, broken down into axes depending on the pathway.

The Arts : Création numérique Master's degree is designed around a tripartition between artistic creation, research and professionalisation in digital artistic and cultural practices. The student's project, the central focus of the course, is nourished by these three axes.
Organisation of the course
The organisation of the Arts Master's Degree programme complies with the requirements of the LMD nomenclature. The architecture of the degrees housed within each pathway responds to the aims of professionalisation and research, with the aim of students' professional integration, through shared learning experiences, short and long internships, and individual follow-up for project support.
A common foundation for the entire Arts Master's degree includes two teaching units (UEs) at M1 level, semester 1, which are compulsory for all students in the degree.

An Arts and Spaces theme built on the mutualisation of psychological approaches linked to the Pathways.
In view of the pedagogical progression and the didactic challenges, the training offer puts in place, in addition to the specific seminars and workshops for each pathway:
- language teaching (English, German and a choice depending on student projects) or subject teaching in English
- research methodology seminars
- tutored project support
- individual supervision of dissertations and/or projects leading to the defence of the dissertation
- work placements (mobile if requested)

Note
- Different teaching contents (UE), in addition to the common core, are pooled between courses during the M1 and M2 curriculum, and even between courses in other majors.
- The partnership agreement established between AMU's Arts et scènes d'aujourd'hui course 1 and the partners that are the FAI-AR (Formation Avancée et Itinérante des Arts de la Rue) and the IMMS/ERAC (Ecole Régionale d'Acteurs de Cannes) is a training scheme that is unique in France and Europe, based on the pooling of infrastructure, skills and human resources.
- The 2 Cultural Médiation of the Arts pathway offers a bi-national master's degree (double-diplôme) between the University of Hildesheim and Aix-Marseille université supported by the Franco-German Université. This diploma involves a year's student mobility in the partner country, with annual Franco-German reunion sessions.
- The 3 Fine Arts pathway offers a double Master's degree between the Royal Academy of Fine Arts –Ecole Supérieure d'Art de Bruxelles (ARBA-ESA) and Aix-Marseille université, subject to the validation of a semester in the partner country.
LEARNING AND RESEARCH
The Med*Arts pathway offers a range of courses (including research methodology and fundamental theory) to raise awareness of research approaches. Its training team, based at the Laboratoire d'Etudes en Sciences des Arts (LESA EA 3274), develops work in the fields of arts and heritage studies, audience research, and research into the structuring of contemporary artistic scenes in relation to the dynamics of North/South-South/South globalisation.
