  • AIMS

    The Bachelor of Sociology is acquired after three years of study within a typical course entitled "General Sociology". The first year is a year of multidisciplinary study with a choice of enrolment in one of the two portals (Sociology, Anthropology, History, History of the Environment);Sociology, Anthropology, History and Geography) or the portal « Sociology, Educational Sciences, Language Science, Philosophy).

    The second and third years of the sociology degree provide students with knowledge and skills in the theory, method and techniques of investigation (interviews, observations, questionnaires, etc.) and the specific fields of research.) and the specific fields of the discipline (sociology of work, urban sociology, sociology of education, sociology of the family, sociology of public action, sociology of the environment, etc.

  • ADMISSION CONDITIONS

    The following are authorised to enrol in a Licence:

    - Candidates who hold or are preparing for a French baccalaureate in general education.

    - Candidates who hold or are preparing for a French baccalaureate in the general, technological or vocational sciences.

    - Candidates who hold or are preparing for a French baccalaureate in the general, technological or vocational sciences.

    - Candidates who hold or are preparing for a French baccalaureate in the general, technological or vocational sciences.

    - Candidates who hold or are preparing for a DAEU.

    - Candidates who hold or are preparing for a DAEU.

    - Candidates who hold or are preparing for a French level IV diploma other than the baccalauréat.

    - Candidates who are nationals of France and who have a French nationality.

    - Applicants who are nationals of the EU, the EEA, the Swiss Confederation, the Principality of Monaco or Andorra, who hold or are in the process of obtaining a diploma giving access to European higher education.

    - Applicants who are nationals of the EU, the EEA, the Swiss Confederation, the Principality of Monaco or Andorra, who hold or are in the process of obtaining a diploma giving access to European higher education.

    - Applicants who are nationals of the EU, the EEA, the Swiss Confederation, the Principality of Monaco or Andorra, who hold or are in the process of obtaining a diploma equivalent to the French baccalaureate (diploma obtained outside the EU).

    N.B : Applicants who are not nationals of the EU, the EEA, the Swiss Confederation, the Principality of Monaco or Andorra, and who hold or are in the process of obtaining a diploma equivalent to the French baccalaureate (EU or non-EU) do not go through the parcours-sup, but through the DAP procedure.

  • STRUCTURE AND ORGANISATION

    The « Sociology » licence participates in two portals :

    In a first portal, entitled « Sciences de l'Homme et de la Socié (SHS) », the sociology licence is associated à the licence «History, the Human Sciences, Anthropology and Ethnology degree and the Geography and Planning degree.

    In a second portal, the licence « Sociology » is associated à the licence « Science du langage » the licence « Sciences de l'éducation » and the licence « Philosophie ».

    The teaching is common to the mentions of each portal and introduces related disciplines thus offering students a general culture and the possibility of a choice of a gateway to another mention of the considered portal. A teaching of methodology of academic work, organised by each of the four disciplines involved in a portal, is proposed in the 1st semester as well as in the 2nd semester of L1 (10%), as well as a teaching of modern languages (10%).

    In the 1st semester, the teaching of methodology of academic work is proposed in the 1st semester as well as in the 2nd semester of L1 (10%).

    In the 1st semester, in each of the portals, each of the 4 streams involved will offer a disciplinary Teaching Unit (TU) (i.e. 4x20% of total = 80%).

    In Licence 1&e

    In Licence 1ère année (L1), the teaching is common to the mentions of the portal. A teaching of methodology of university work is proposed each semester of L1. The specialisation in the field begins in the 2nd year. In the second year, a course on the professional project and career planning helps the student to refine his or her project; a transversal course provides training in digital and information skills. The modern language is compulsory every semester of the licence.

    The licence is offered in French and English.

    The degree is offered in initial and continuing education.

    Continuing education trainees benefit from specific transversal modules proposed by the component and which focus in particular on the link with the socio-economic world, professionalization, documentary research, the use of available resources, the development of knowledge and skills, and project development.

    In both initial and continuing education, the teaching is delivered in pre-service (lectures, tutorials, field visits, internship support) and pre-service enriched by the use of ICTE via AMU's digital platform AMETICE : forums, provision of resources etc.

    The hourly volume of the licence is 1500 hours, i.e. 500 hours maximum per year.

    The teaching of the modern language for non-specialists of languages (LANSAD) represents 18 ECTS over the 3 years or 180 hours. The progress in modern language of each student is prepared within the framework of a partnership between the licence and the LANSAD offer of the departments of modern languages of the UFR ALLSH.

  • INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS

    For non-compulsory internships, the establishment of the internship agreement is ensured with the support of the UFR administration via the ipro platform http://ipro.univ-amu.fr

    This platform allows students to access and apply for internship and job offers, to follow up on their applications, to request authorization for an internship from their academic supervisor and to complete their internship agreement.

    The tutorial projects

    The tutored projects allow students to work in conditions similar to those of private companies, public institutions or agencies or associations under the 1901 law, with support from the course teachers.Tab dés

  • SUPPORT FOR YOUR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

    The student has a regular teacher, the Director of Studies. They benefit from regular and individualised follow-up, supported by courses on the methodology of university work adapted to their discipline.

    The homecoming days allow the student to get to know the department, the services of the University, the optional courses, to visit the University Library, to get to know the Common Documentation Service (SCD).

    The Practice training, compulsory for L1, is a discovery of the Digital Working Environment ENT, of the AMETICE pedagogical platform, of the institutional mail (http://cipe.univ-amu.fr)

    For students entering the course after authorisation from the P&E Commission, a refresher course may be offered (in certain cases, substitution of a French language UE for a Foreign Modern Language for example).

    Existence of a student tutorial (2 per semester) in charge of helping 1st year students. In the first semester, the student tutors, under the authority of the Director of Studies, are involved in welcoming and helping students choose their options, providing information on the organisation of their studies, as well as on working methods. In the second semester, they provide pedagogical support to students who request it and/or are guided by the relevant teachers; After the results of the 1st semester), they assist the DETU in the information days for professional integration as well as in the welcome days for baccalaureate students.

  • SUPPORT FOR YOUR LABOR MARKET INTEGRATION

    The objective is to accompany the student in the construction of his/her orientation. It is a question of providing general information and methodological content in order to enable the student to enrich his or her orientation perspectives and to gradually develop his or her choices. It is also a question of providing students with preparation for integration: knowledge of the socio-professional environment specific to the course, initiation into the tools of integration and the search for internships.

    The department has ERASMUS agreements with the universities of Frankfurt, Brussels, Alicante, Cork, Trento, Chieti (Italy), Naples, Genoa, Galatasaray, Patras.

    The department also has a network of universities in the United States and Europe.

    Outside ERASMUS, we mention the network of Universities of Quebec (CREPUQ), three Mexican universities (ITESM, UDM, UANL) and two research centres (CIESAS and COLEF) in the same country.
