AIMS
The diversity of disciplinary fields explored in the Sciences and Humanities degree is an opportunity for students to open up and learn. Transdisciplinarity, at the heart of this training, is defined in three pedagogical areas: mastery of the disciplinary foundations, a critical relationship with knowledge, and the development of rational exercise and oral and written expression.
The teaching is based on the principles of the "science and humanities" degree, which is the foundation of the sciences and humanities, and is based on the principles of the "science and humanities" degree, which is the foundation of the sciences and humanities
The teaching is developed around three thematic blocks that are explored in greater depth each semester over the course of the three years: Inhabiting the Earth, Observing measuring describing, Individual and society.
This is complemented by a cross-disciplinary block that includes English language teaching related to the themes, as well as teaching methods and workshops
It is by playing the game of an organically transdisciplinary training programme, breaking with the classic juxtaposition of knowledge and teaching, that the student will be able to develop complex thinking and reflect on their own career path.

TARGETED STUDENTS
A highly motivated and curious public, attracted to and interested in both the exact sciences and the humanities and social sciences.
-
ADMISSION CONDITIONS
Bac (all types) or equivalent.
Registration must be preceded by an individual interview and a study of the school record (first and last year report cards).
For applicants from French or similar institutions, they are asked to go through the Parcoursup platform and request an interview by email by writing to: sciences-licence-sh-info@univ-amu.fr
For applicants from other institutions, it is requested to go through the Etudes en France platform, but no interview request is made. The latter will eventually be set up after examination of the application by the teaching team.

Transdisciplinary course: continuation of the L1-L2 curriculum structure: Inhabiting the Earth, Observing measuring describing, Individual and society and a cross-disciplinary block.
Specialisation pathway
Disciplinary Spécialisation courses in different science or humanities disciplines : physics, mathematics, ecology, neuroscience, philosophy, education.

KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED
The knowledge to be acquired covers several disciplinary fields, from mathematics to natural sciences (physics, biology, thermodynamics, ecology, climatology, paleoanthropology, ethology, etc.), through human and social sciences (philosophy, sociology, linguistics, history, art history, literature, psychology, economics, etc.), but also epistemology. They should ultimately enable the student to acquire a broad and solid scientific training, and possibly to integrate the disciplinary master's degree of their choice.
-
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED
The Sciences and Humanities degree is not part of the skills-based teaching approach. However, emphasis will be placed on the development of the following faculties already present in students:
Sciences and Humanities
- spirit of synthèse;
- work capacity ;
- maîtrise of disciplinary bases ;
- critical relationship to knowledge;
- rigorous reasoning and expression in French and English
-
INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS
- Possible internships on a voluntary basis and in addition to the established program.
- Supervised project spread throughout the L3 year in the Disciplinary Specialization track : physics, mathematics, ecology, neuroscience, philosophy, education.
-
CONTINUING STUDIES
Very wide choice of master's degrees in sciences and humanities. For example:
- Master's degrees in sciences: mathematics, physics, biology.
- Master's degrees in humanities: history, philosophy, sociology.
- Multidisciplinary master's degrees: education, epistemology, ecology, science communication, cognitive sciences.

PARTNERS
The course has forged partnerships with players from the socio-cultural world who complement the teaching provided and open up students' horizons to the extra-academic world while giving them a sensitive experience. Guided tours by artist Sylvie Pic and philosopher Antoine Devillet are organised every year. The Métacarpe company welcomes students for an introduction to the art of puppetry, in partnership with Marseille's Natural History Museum. A polarising art workshop will be led by Anne-Lise King, a visual artist from Marseille. Damien Beyrouthy, an artist-researcher, offers an art and ecology workshop lasting approximately thirty hours, during which students develop a sensory experience centered on the concept of extractivism. Lastly, a writing and oral performance workshop led by performance artist Pierre Guéry is being offered to students, with a presentation of the work in the form of a show at the Théâtre La Cité.

SUPPORT FOR YOUR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
Small class sizes (35 students in the first year of first year of training).
Reinforced supervision for all students, required by the ambitious and multidisciplinary nature of the program, as well as the diversity of student profiles.
Mathematics support starting in the first year of L1.
Hours of specialized tutoring in the third year of L3 by professors in physics, mathematics, ecology, neuroscience, philosophy, education.
-
SUPPORT FOR YOUR ACADEMIC CHOICES
- Regular assessment of the student training adéquation–to consider réorientations on a case-by-case basis.
- Possibilité d'intégrer une L3 disciplinaire après validation de la L2 ou de la L3 de la licence Sciences et humanités (cas par cas).
-
SUPPORT FOR YOUR LABOR MARKET INTEGRATION
- Interviews in L3 with the head of promotion for support towards masters.
- Connection with former students who have graduated.
- Providing a list of masters courses of interest to former students or relevant after the bachelor's degree.
-
SUPPORT FOR YOUR STUDIES ABROAD
Opportunity for international mobility during the third year (L3) in various European and non-European countries.
Erasmus agreements with the Science for Peace degree of the University of Pisa, the Department of Philosophy of the University of Turin and the Faculty of Education of Barcelona.
CIVIS (European Civic University) programme with the universities of Athens, Bucharest, Brussels, Madrid, Rome, Stockholm, and Tübingen.
Each year, 4 to 6 students go abroad for at least one semester of the L3.
Students participating in international mobility programs have the option to choose specializations other than the five offered in the third year (sociology, geography...).
