  • STRUCTURE AND ORGANISATION

Courses are divided into Blocks of Knowledge and Skills (BCC).    ·

     Each semester comprises several BCCs (4 in L1, 3 in L2-L3).    ·

The Teaching Units (UEs) that make up a BCC compensate for each other in examinations: if the average of the marks obtained for these UEs is greater than or equal to 10/20, all the UEs are considered to have been passed.   ·      The BCCs are identical (twins) in the first and second semesters of each year.

The Twin BCCs offset each other at the end of the'year : if the average of the marks obtained in the same BCC in the first and second semesters is greater than or equal to 10/20, the BCC is considered to have been acquired for the year.   ·

Several UEs offer a choice of'courses, either from among several courses in the department, or from related disciplines (history, archaeology and art history, philosophy, modern literature).

Before registration by the Registrar's Office (BISE : Bureau d'inscription et de suivi de l'étudiant), your choice will need to be submitted to the Direction des études des Sciences de l'Antiquité , who will help you put together a pathway that is consistent with your professional goals.   ·

In some UEs, hours of active pédagogy (PA) are added to the hours of présentiel : these are either hours of work coordinated by the teacher, or hours of independent work by étudiants[CD1] , individually or in groups.    ·

Each validated UE earns a certain number of crécalled ECTS (European Credit Transfer and accumulation System)  the quantity; ECTS acquired validates the student's level on a European scale (one semester = 30 ECTS, a full degree = 180 ECTS).
