Path 1 (History, culture, representations), accessible, like the other paths, from L2, is oriented towards cultural history.

It aims to make students aware of the knowledge and methods that history shares
with art history and archaeology. It also aims to facilitate guidance towards
master's degrees preparing students for careers in culture, archives and libraries.

It is also designed to help students develop their skills in the
cultural history field

All four pathways prepare students in the same way for the scientific requirements of the historical discipline, in the four canonical periods of history (Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Modern and Contemporary periods). The courses on Track 1 focus on religious and intellectual history, material history and the history of the written word. It also includes a solid grounding in art history and archaeology.
