Licence Histoire - Parcours Histoire, cultures et représentations

Course 1 (History, Culture, Representations), accessible, like the other courses, from the second year onwards, focuses on cultural history.

It aims to raise students' awareness of the knowledge and methods that history shares with
art history and archaeology. It also aims to facilitate orientation towards
master's degrees preparing students for careers in culture, archives and libraries.

All four courses prepare students in the same way for the scientific demands of the discipline of history, covering the four canonical periods of history (Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the modern period and the contemporary period). The courses specific to Pathway 1 focus on religious and intellectual history, material history and the history of writing. It also includes a solid grounding in art history and archaeology.
