    The LEA English-Arabic degree aims at acquiring a solid knowledge of the culture and civilisation of the Anglo-Saxon world and mastering the main political and cultural dynamics at work in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). It trains students to write and communicate at a professional level in French, English and Arabic. The skills acquired include translation from English and Arabic into French and from French into English and Arabic, as well as mastery of the concepts and reasoning that underpin legal, economic, communication and management analyses.

    The course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of translation.

  • LEARNING AND RESEARCH

    The LEA English-Arabic degree aims at professional masters in the fields of international trade, SME-Export, management of humanitarian, tourist and cultural projects, communication and diplomacy : master LEA, master « Tourism, languages and cultures », master MASNI, master Info-Com. The licence also allows you to engage in research via the master « Mondes arabe, musulman et hamito-sémitique » (MAMHS) or the master « Coopération euro-meacute;diterrane ».

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

    • Advanced language skills in English (C1+) and strong skills in Arabic (B1+ level for L1 students, B2+ for intermediate, C1+ for advanced)
    • Translation of various texts from English and Arabic into French and from French into English and Arabic (press, audiovisual media, political and economic analyses, legal documents)
    • Fine knowledge of the political and cultural dynamics at work in the Anglo-Saxon world and the MENA region
    • Ability to apply legal, economic, communication or management concepts and reasoning to analyse a situation or manage a project related to the MENA region
  • INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS

    Compulsory internship in Licence 3 LEA, lasting 2 months, starting at the end of March, validating a 6 ECTS UE in semester 6. The tutored projects allow students to work in conditions similar to those of a company, with support from the course teachers.

  • SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS

    Learning in class and complementary use of the AMéTICE teaching platform. Encouragement of active pedagogy, in particular: problem-based approach, student presentations, mini research papers, individual and group work.
